Beautiful
interior settings and decor. Have a mix of rattan and wood designs in almost
every wall or ceiling. As this building is built years ago, some staircase or
corridors seems aged, but it exudes a sense of past old time stories. It reminds
me of my late grandma"s huge house. I was awe by the atmosphere of the hotel and
the staff are friendly and nice. It"s just walking distance to most shopping
areas and historical buildings. It saves me taxi fare to get there. I would
recommend so people who do not mind the building being a bit old, anyway, the
hotel is expanding. They will have another new block adding to it soon.

For me the hotel was nice, but a bit expensive. I think that in
Vietnam you can find cheaper hotels with similar facilities. The staff was very
nice at reception, and the terrace is beautiful, but not the swimming pool.
Breakfast was good too, with a big variety. My impression was not bad, but I
maybe expected sth more.

The Rex is in a great location with in easy walk of many attractions. The supermarket across the road makes for cheap meals, as does the food court directly opposite. $1 USD for a light meal is sensational value. Breakfast is delicious with a wide range to choose from. The staff are friendly and courteous. The Rex has character and history, there are 5 star hotels that offer more class but you could be anywhere in the world. At the Rex you know you are in Vietnam!

My husband and I stayed at the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in May
2007 and had a wonderful experience! Not only was the hotel beautiful and the
meals and service outstanding, when I left my purse containing all of our travel
documents - passports, airline tickets, hotel vouchers and cash in a local taxi
cab, the Duty Manager of the Rex Hotel, Ngo Tien Hung, contacted all of the taxi
companies trying to locate my purse and personally walked us to the police
station and assisted us with filing a police report. I am happy to say that his
efforts were not in vain, as my purse was returned to me the following day with
everything accounted for! While the RexHotel claims to be “Your Vietnam Home”
the Rex Hotel is most assuredly “Our” Vietnam Home!

The Rex is one of the best
positioned hotels in HCMC. It is a refined building from the colonial period. It
will be interesting to see how the new wing they are currently building will
change the ambience. The rooftop bar is a safe haven for travelers new to HCMC
but it is overrated. The local area is relatively easy to wander around and, for
those who have not yet learnt how to cross HCMC caotic streets, there are
special uniformed "Tourist Officers" who stop traffic so bewildered tourists can
cross safely.

Rex Hotel is great, very well located in the heart of HCMV, it has this slighltly old-fashioned feeling that I really like, it has a great terrace with good restaurant and an open air swimming pool above the terrace which it very pleasant , despite the fact it is quite small. I will certainly return there... when the work on a new buiding in construction right next door will be finished. Starting at 6am there was so much noise in our room that we were not able to sleep at all. It was a morning nightmare and we were not able to get a less noisy room (I suspect most rooms were affected by this incredibly loud noise and vibrations). We were there in April 2007, just wait for at least 6 months before even thinking spending a night there.

Very good hotel in great location. The hotel decor is dated, but saying that, it was very clean, breakfast was good, roof top beer garden was a great spot to knock down a few tigers. We upgraded the room which was worth it. Not the flashiest hotel around, but a very clean, safe place to rest your head at night.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The location is fantastic and close walking distance to all the major sites such as ReunificationPalace, War Mueseum and good restaurants. Rooms were a good size although decor was a little bit dated it was very clean. Excellent breakfast, and access to free internet and 2 free items of washing each day were great benefits! For those who are not looking for a budget tour the day trips organised through the Rex to Mekong Delta and Cu Chi Tunnels were excellent. Although renovations were occuring during our stay this only happened during the day and was not a problem. Its a lovely old building and once they have completed the renovations will probably achieve 5 stars again. Would definitely recommend the Rex and stay again.

I am thoroughly impressed with the facilities and services provided by Rex. The food is fantastic and the rooftop view is top class. Highly recommended venue for international tourists.

The Rex is a good and centrally located choice for Ho Chi Minh City. The rooms are of a good standard, clean and recently renovated. Staff are helpful and the internet access and breakfast included in our rate were good. The rooftop bar is also a plus.

For value for money the Rex was an excellent hotel. Few hotels in big cities in Vietnam have great views and no noise, this is a reality of life. However the rooms clearly seemed to be positioned to minimise the noise level out on the always busy street. The location in HCM city could not be better...central to everything. The staff were always helpful and polite. The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely. Inside the hotel is a quiet oasis in a very noisy city. The breakfast provision was excellent. Wide range of food. My teenage son thought it was a great hotel...and that is a tough test to pass. Pauline, Australia.

We spent 4 nights at the Rex and loved it. The location was excellent, and the moment we stepped in the door the service was impeccable. We had a room with verandah and it was slightly noisy but you had to expect that in the city. The food was good, breakfast buffet amazing and staff very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great location! The staffs are even better. The breakfast is fantastic... Most of all, the staff are wonderful and very helpful. The room is clean... I think wireless internet service will bring in a lot of business travelers.

Personally I feel that the staffs in REX Hotel HCMC are friendly and I like their service. Prompt response upon any request. Nice cafe at the 1st storey can provide meal and nice music also live band in the evening. Free an hour internet surfing convenient for oversea guest connected with their friend but if the usage time can breakdown to 15mins per surfing would be better rather than half hourly. I like the hotel location which is convenient for tourist to shop around as nearby lot of shopping mall and shops. Afterall I feel that is a better place to stay as compare to my previous trip that I stay in Grand Hotel. I will definitely stay at the REX Hotel on my next trip to HCMC.

A splendid old hotel in a good location. The hotel is in the process of being upgraded. The room was huge although it was difficult to find our way around the hotel as there are 2 wings. The pool area is very poor and needs improving but the roof garden"bar was lovely. Great value - would be happy to stay there again.
